The DoD's 2010 official report, from Comprehensive Review Chairmen Jeh C. Johnson and GEN Carter F. Ham, of the review of issues associated with the potential repeal of the 1993 "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" law preventing the open service of gays and lesbians in the United States Armed Forces. The report explores the issue from various sides, presents and explains the results of surveys and discussions with interested parties, and makes the recommendation that the policy can and should be repealed with minimal impact on the Armed Services. The report was prepaered for Secretary of Defense Robert Gates and presented to Congress and President Obama on December 1, 2010.
